This is the wireless version of EDTracker, offering camera-less 3DOF head tracking without the need for a USB cable during play. We've taken the popular and well-proven wired EDTracker Pro and gone to town on it! Wireless Pro features an uprated 32-bit ARM microcontroller with eight times the memory and lots more processing power. This means wireless is just as responsive as the previous wired device.
The main difference, of course, is the lack of a wire tethering you to your PC. EDTracker Pro Wireless uses 2.4GHz wireless technology to communicate with a USB dongle (provided). 27 different channels are supported so the device can co-exist with other wireless devices in the vicinity.
An internal lithium polymer battery provides around 10 hours of play time, and it can be charged using a standard USB Micro B cable (optional - any mobile phone or PC cable will do). During periods of inactivity, the device goes into sleep mode to conserve charge. It charges in a couple of hours and, should you need to, you can always play and charge at the same time. The charging system is fully intelligent and safe - you can leave the device plugged in for as long as you like without fear of damage or over-charging.
As with previous EDTrackers, our driverless software design means no windows drivers are required - just plug in the provided USB dongle, pair the device, calibrate it and play.
User guide, including calibration instructions, are available here along with the GUI software needed to calibrate it.
